After spending over five years in Edinburgh, I grew to really appreciate independent cafés. So when I moved to Canary Wharf, I genuinely struggled to find anything that wasn’t a big chain. That is exactly why Another Brother felt like a breath of fresh air. It sits inside the ARK building, but it is fully open to the public.
The interior is cosy and thoughtfully designed, with seating for every type of visitor. If you want to study or work, there are high bench tables. If you are looking for a quiet corner to read (especially on a rainy day), the couches are perfect. The space feels warm, relaxed and surprisingly calm for Canary Wharf.
My go-to order is an oat cappuccino, and it has never disappointed me. They also have a varied brunch menu, and for this area the prices are very reasonable. I tried their toasted sourdough with peanut butter and really enjoyed it. They also offer different pastries, again at fair prices.
Overall, the vibe is great, the coffee is consistently good, and it is genuinely refreshing to have a non-franchise café in Canary Wharf. If you’re in the area and want something independent, I would definitely recommend giving Another Brother a visit.
P.S. I absolutely love pancakes, and unfortunately they don’t have them on the menu… a tiny disappointment, but everything else makes up for it.
A simple reminder that even in Canary Wharf, independent cafés still exist.
